Collectors are internals designed to collect the liquid descending from a packing to recover it or/and to redistribute it on a second packing bed.

The redistribution is used in case of a new liquid inlet or/and when the packing height is too high (we generally do not operate a column with a packing height higher than 5 meter) to prevent liquid by pass in the packing.

The V-type collector consists of inclined parallel vanes to collect the liquid coming from the packing. This liquid flows on the vanes to be collected in channels. The liquid is then sent to the column periphery in a toric reservoir.

The pressure drop of the vapour through the V-type collector is minimum. This collector is also used as a vapour distributor.

The V-type collectors are designed to be introduced through the manhole.
